Leapmotor B10 Electric SUV Priced at Just £29,995!

Greetings, Net Zero News Community,

Exciting news is on the horizon for electric vehicle enthusiasts! Leapmotor, a brand backed by Stellantis, has unveiled the pricing details for its highly anticipated B10 electric SUV, set to make its grand debut later this month. This budget-friendly vehicle is not only designed to make waves in the electric vehicle market but also aims to provide a solution for eco-conscious consumers seeking value without compromise.

Positioned as a significant addition to the Leapmotor lineup, the B10 will be available starting at a competitive price of £29,995 for retail purchases. This pricing is supported by the company’s in-house initiative known as the ‘Leap-Grant’, which offers £1,500 off the retail price. It is important to note that Leapmotor’s models do not qualify for the UK’s Electric Car Grant. For those considering company car options, the B10 will be priced at £31,495 OTR (on-the-road).

Leapmotor has already made a name for itself with the successful launch of its larger C10 SUV and the compact T03 city car. The B10 C-segment SUV strategically positions itself within the competitive landscape, taking on rivals such as the Renault Scenic, Ford Explorer, and Kia EV3. Adding to the excitement, the B10 will be followed next year by the B05 electric hatchback, which made its debut at the Munich motor show, alongside plans for a B-segment SUV and hatchback.

At the heart of the B10’s design is the Leap 3.5 architecture, which incorporates advanced smart technologies and an innovative Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This makes the B10 particularly appealing to tech-savvy and environmentally conscious consumers who are looking for cutting-edge features wrapped in a sustainable package.

Equipped with Leapmotor’s Cell-to-Chassis technology, the B10 ingeniously integrates battery cells directly into the vehicle’s structure. It boasts a robust 67.1kWh ProMax battery, delivering an impressive WLTP range of up to 270 miles. For those on the go, the vehicle can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, with a maximum charging speed of 168kW. Additionally, the B10 comes standard with a heat pump and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, enhancing its versatility for everyday use.

Performance-wise, the B10 is powered by a 218hp rear-mounted motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0-62mph in a mere 8.0 seconds, with a top speed of 106mph. This impressive performance is complemented by a McPherson front suspension system, meticulously tuned for European roads with the expertise of Stellantis’ global chassis specialists.

One of the standout features of the B10 is its unique approach to trim levels. Leapmotor has opted to offer the B10 in a single “everything as standard” grade, ensuring that all customers enjoy a comprehensive suite of features without the hassle of choosing from multiple variants.

Every B10 comes loaded with a range of premium features, including a 1.8m² panoramic sunroof, electrically powered and heated ‘Eco’ leather front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree surround view camera, a heated steering wheel, a 12-speaker hi-fi system, automatic climate control, and a striking 14.6-inch central floating touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also features an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and a 64-colour ambient lighting system that can synchronise with music, along with a convenient wireless charging pad.

In terms of practicality, the B10 does not disappoint. It boasts a powered tailgate, class-leading passenger space, and a staggering 22 interior storage compartments. The vehicle’s total boot volume ranges from 430 litres to an impressive 1,700 litres, complemented by a clever 25-litre ‘frunk’ (front trunk) for additional storage.

Safety is paramount in the B10, which is equipped with an extensive array of driver assistance technologies. This includes 17 different systems such as advanced emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and door open warnings for cyclists. The vehicle also features adaptive cruise control, eight exterior parking sensors, and four surround view cameras, ensuring a safe and convenient driving experience.

Damien Dally, Managing Director of Leapmotor UK, expressed enthusiasm about the B10’s entry into the market, stating, “The car is extremely competitively priced and is jam-packed with high levels of technology on one simple, well-specified trim, making it easier than ever for drivers to make the switch to electric.”

With order books for the Leapmotor B10 set to open in late October, the first UK deliveries are expected to commence in early December. This is a highly anticipated moment for consumers eager to embrace electric mobility without breaking the bank.

As we move towards a more sustainable future, the Leapmotor B10 stands as a testament to the increasing accessibility of electric vehicles. With its combination of affordability, advanced technology, and environmentally friendly design, it is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive landscape.
