Tual Boosts Charger Tech R&D with New Bicester Motion HQ

Welcome, Net Zero News readers,

In an exciting development for the commercial fleet charging sector, Tual, a pioneering firm in charging solutions, has officially opened its new standalone headquarters at Bicester Motion in Oxford. This move signifies a significant leap forward in the company’s mission to enhance the efficiency of electric vehicle charging, particularly for fleet operations.

Bicester Motion is not just any location; it is a sprawling 444-acre ‘future mobility estate’ situated in the prestigious ‘Motorsport Valley’ of Oxfordshire. This region is renowned for housing many of the UK’s leading motorsport companies and engineering talents, making it an ideal spot for a firm like Tual that is at the forefront of innovation in electric vehicle technology.

The new headquarters is strategically located near notable companies such as classic motoring specialist Hagerty and motorsport component supplier Penske Racing Shocks. This proximity to other innovators and industry leaders is poised to catalyse Tual’s growth as it embarks on the next phase of its development strategy.

At the heart of Tual’s new site is a commitment to consolidating its commercial product development, testing laboratories, and prototyping capabilities into a single, customer-centric hub. This consolidation is expected to accelerate the development of Tual’s cutting-edge charging solutions, particularly the company’s flagship product, the PowerUp Charger.

The PowerUp Charger is a battery-buffered DC charging solution designed to tackle the limitations of the electrical grid, ensuring reliable and rapid charging for fleets wherever they may be. The new headquarters will also provide Tual with access to Bicester Motion’s dynamic test track, enabling live demonstrations and on-demand testing of their innovative technology. This feature is crucial for showcasing the PowerUp Charger’s capabilities and performance in real-world scenarios.

While the Glasgow site will continue to host Tual’s software development operations, the new Bicester Motion headquarters offers ample space for customer engagement and applied innovation, reinforcing the company’s dual-hub growth strategy. This strategy aims to blend technological development with customer interaction, fostering an environment ripe for collaboration and creativity.

Phil Clarke, the founder and CEO of Tual, expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating: “The transition to our new full-service site represents a pivotal step in Tual’s journey. It provides us with the space and visibility needed to accelerate commercial product development while welcoming customers into an environment designed for collaboration and real-world testing. With the PowerUp Charger already proving its capability in challenging fleet environments, these facilities allow us to build on that momentum and deliver new innovations to market faster.”

This move comes on the heels of several significant milestones for Tual, including a strategic partnership with Polarium. This collaboration aims to deploy cloud-connected Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries for the first time as part of the PowerUp Charger systems. Furthermore, Tual has plans for a rollout across Scotland to demonstrate the technology’s resilience and performance in remote locations that are often constrained by grid limitations.

The establishment of Tual’s new headquarters at Bicester Motion is not only a testament to the company’s growth but also a reflection of the burgeoning electric vehicle market. As businesses and consumers alike increasingly turn towards sustainable solutions, Tual’s innovative charging technology offers a glimpse into the future of fleet management and electric mobility.

As we continue to follow Tual’s journey, it’s clear that their commitment to innovation and customer engagement will play a crucial role in shaping the landscape of electric vehicle charging solutions. The road ahead looks promising for Tual, and we at Net Zero News are excited to see how their advancements will contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
