Rightcharge Secures £1.6m to Accelerate Fleet Electrification in Europe

Hello, Champions of Net Zero!
In an exciting development for the electric vehicle (EV) landscape, Rightcharge, a pioneering UK startup, has successfully secured £1.6 million (€1.15 million) in seed funding aimed at streamlining fleet EV charging payments. This significant investment is poised to enhance the company’s efforts in simplifying the transition to electric fleets, making it an essential player in the journey towards a more sustainable future.
The funding round was spearheaded by Soulmates Ventures, with notable participation from Blackwood Ventures, Unruly Capital, and Purple Ventures. This backing is a testament to Rightcharge’s impressive growth trajectory, having achieved over tenfold increase in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in 2025. Among its clientele are some of the UK’s largest fleets, including the renowned AA, underscoring Rightcharge’s credibility and potential within the sector.
Rightcharge is on a mission to transform how EV charging payments are managed. By automating payments for home charging, the company offers a solution that not only ensures accurate reimbursement for drivers but also delivers substantial savings for fleet operators—up to a staggering 90% on charging costs. Furthermore, this innovative approach contributes to a reduction in carbon emissions by 30% when compared to traditional public charging methods. Fleet managers benefit from decreased administrative burdens, a significant reduction in errors and fraud, and enhanced assurance that drivers will receive fair reimbursements.
To add to its value proposition, Rightcharge provides a public charge card that grants drivers access to over 70% of public charging points across the UK. All associated costs are conveniently consolidated into a single, HMRC-compliant monthly bill, making financial management significantly easier for fleet operators.
The impact of Rightcharge’s solution on the AA has been remarkable, with the company reporting savings exceeding £1,000 per vehicle annually and achieving a commendable 64% usage of renewable energy. Such tangible benefits highlight the potential of Rightcharge’s offerings to facilitate a broader shift towards electrification within the fleet sector.
With this recent funding, Rightcharge is set to accelerate its expansion across Europe, thanks in part to a strategic partnership with Octopus Electroverse. This collaboration will allow Rightcharge to white-label its home payments solution, paving the way for entry into key European markets including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, and Ireland, with additional markets anticipated in the future.
Looking ahead, Rightcharge estimates that by 2035, over 100 million drivers globally will seek reimbursement for charging work vehicles at home. The company’s ambitious goal is to cater to at least 10 million of these drivers, a target that reflects the growing demand for efficient EV charging solutions.
Charlie Cook, the founder and CEO of Rightcharge, expressed his vision: “We’re building the payments infrastructure that will make EV charging effortless for fleets. The home is the quiet giant of electrification. Over 70% of charging already happens there. Accurate, automated payments give businesses confidence to electrify faster, while cutting costs and carbon. Thanks to our investors and our partnership with Octopus, we’re now bringing that capability to fleets across Europe.”
Hynek Sochor, the founder and managing partner at Soulmates Ventures, shared his enthusiasm: “Rightcharge has scaled at impressive speed, combining rapid growth with virtually zero churn and a product that removes a key barrier to electrification. For fleets, the savings are so significant that adoption becomes an obvious choice. Europe offers a vast opportunity. In Germany alone, 80% of new high-end cars are company vehicles. Rightcharge is uniquely positioned to become the backbone for European fleets – all this while also delivering clear benefits for the planet.”
This infusion of capital not only propels Rightcharge towards its expansion objectives but also reinforces the importance of innovative solutions in driving the transition to electric vehicles. As we all strive for a net-zero future, the advancements made by companies like Rightcharge are crucial in helping fleets navigate the complexities of electrification.
As electric vehicles become increasingly prevalent, the demand for efficient and reliable charging solutions will only grow. Rightcharge is at the forefront of this change, providing essential tools that streamline the process for fleet operators while contributing to a greener planet. Stay tuned as we follow their journey and witness the transformative impact they will undoubtedly have on the EV landscape in Europe and beyond.
In conclusion, the future is electric, and with startups like Rightcharge leading the charge (quite literally), we are one step closer to achieving a sustainable and net-zero world. Let us continue to support and champion innovations that pave the way for a cleaner, greener future for all.
