Multifleet Expands Electric SUVs for St John Ambulance Wales

Welcome, Net Zero News readers,

In a significant move towards sustainable transportation, Multifleet Vehicle Management, operating under the name Runyourfleet, has enhanced its collaboration with St John Ambulance Service in Wales by supplying two state-of-the-art electric SUVs. This initiative not only marks a step forward in the partnership between these two entities but also aligns perfectly with the broader objectives of reducing carbon footprints and promoting eco-friendly practices within community services.

Based in Solihull, Runyourfleet has provided two Kia Niro EVs on a contract hire basis for St John Ambulance Cymru, aimed specifically at bolstering community projects. These electric vehicles (EVs) are designed to operate efficiently while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, making them an ideal choice for the ambulance service as it seeks to modernise its fleet and reduce its environmental impact.

St John Ambulance also expressed optimism about the future, indicating that there may be more new deliveries on the horizon, contingent upon their usual competitive tendering process. This hints at a growing trend towards integrating electric vehicles into essential services, paving the way for a greener future.

Furthermore, the partnership has seen an expansion of Runyourfleet’s contract to level 3—the pinnacle of fleet management services. This elevation means that Runyourfleet is now responsible for managing all aspects of St John’s fleet, which includes over 85 ambulances, minibuses, and support vehicles. Such a comprehensive approach is not only beneficial for operational efficiency but also underscores the importance of reliable fleet management in the delivery of crucial community services.

Benjamin Savage, Chief Operating Officer at St John Ambulance Cymru, shared insights into the partnership’s successes, stating: “We’ve found real value in the fleet management services provided by Runyourfleet, who have proved themselves to be efficient and cost-effective.”

He elaborated on the journey of their fleet management, noting, “Most of our vehicles have been purchased, and we started with Runyourfleet’s fleet management at level 1, soon increasing it to level 2, and we have now agreed on a level 3 arrangement. This means Runyourfleet really is taking the headache of fleet management away, allowing us to focus on what we’re good at – first aid treatment, training, and transport for communities across Wales.”

The scope of outsourced fleet management has broadened significantly, now encompassing regular servicing, MOTs, leasing, short-term rental, and even the meticulous checking of driving licences and registration documents. This comprehensive approach not only streamlines operations but also ensures that the vehicles used for community service are always in optimal condition, ready to respond when needed most.

Luke Savage, the Key Account Manager at Runyourfleet, expressed enthusiasm about the expanding relationship with St John Ambulance Cymru. “We’ve been able to show St John Ambulance Cymru the quality of services we offer, and we’re delighted that our contract with them is now expanding,” he said.

He further noted the evolution of their services, saying, “We have evolved from light-touch fleet management and specialist breakdown cover to supporting the business in all key areas of outsourced fleet management. We’re also delighted to have started leasing vehicles for their community projects, something we supported with long-term rental previously, and we hope to expand this over time.”

This partnership is a shining example of how organisations can work together to achieve sustainability goals while ensuring that essential services remain uninterrupted. As electric vehicles become increasingly prevalent in various sectors, the collaboration between Runyourfleet and St John Ambulance Cymru serves as a model for other organisations looking to follow suit in their own fleet management strategies.

As we move towards a greener future, the focus on sustainable practices within essential services like the ambulance service is crucial. It not only contributes to the overall reduction of carbon emissions but also sets a precedent for other organisations to consider the environmental impact of their operations. The integration of electric vehicles is a step in the right direction, and the success of this partnership can inspire further innovations within the realm of fleet management.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Runyourfleet and St John Ambulance Cymru is more than just a business arrangement; it is a commitment to sustainability and community service. As we continue to champion the move towards net-zero emissions, initiatives like this remind us that positive change is possible when organisations prioritise sustainability and efficiency in their operations. We look forward to seeing how this partnership will evolve and inspire others in the journey towards a more sustainable future.
