Exciting news for electric vehicle enthusiasts! Reservations are now open for the highly anticipated Geely EX5 all-electric SUV, as the renowned Chinese automotive giant unveils its competitive pricing and specifications for the UK market.

Official sales will commence on 24 October 2025, with the EX5 starting at a remarkable price of just £31,990. This C-segment SUV marks Geely’s official entry into the UK market, a move first announced back in July. With its attractive pricing, the EX5 undercuts formidable competitors such as the Škoda Enyaq, Kia EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5, making it a compelling option for eco-conscious drivers.

To secure one of the initial delivery slots, prospective buyers can place a £99 refundable reservation fee. This fee not only guarantees a priority delivery but also includes a complimentary co-branded Andersen A3 7kW home charger, making the transition to electric driving even smoother.

Geely is no stranger to the UK automotive scene, having established its presence through well-known brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, and LEVC. With a significant 50% stake in Smart alongside Mercedes, Geely is now venturing into the UK market directly through Geely Auto UK, which will serve as the brand’s new national sales company, launching first with the EX5.

The EX5 has already made waves in markets like China and Australia, and it is poised to make a similar impact here in the UK, particularly among fleet customers. It offers two battery options globally: 49.5kWh or 60.2kWh, utilising the innovative ‘short blade’ battery technology. For the UK market, Geely has confirmed that the EX5 will come equipped with the larger 60.2kWh battery pack, boasting a WLTP range of between 255 and 267 miles, depending on the trim level. This impressive range is paired with an 11-in-one drive system that delivers a powerful 218 horsepower.

The EX5’s battery can charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes, making it convenient for daily use. Additionally, the vehicle’s capabilities include vehicle-to-load (3.3kW) and vehicle-to-vehicle (6kW) functionalities, enhancing its versatility for users.

Geely is committed to ensuring that its customers have access to top-notch charging infrastructure. To this end, they are forging a partnership with Octopus Energy, which promises straightforward and cost-effective charging solutions and tariffs, a crucial aspect for potential EV owners.

The Geely EX5 will be offered in three distinct trim levels: SE, Pro, and Max. Starting with the SE model at £31,990, this version includes a host of desirable features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a premium interior, LED lighting with high beam control, rain-sensing wipers, a heated steering wheel, and heated, electrically adjustable front seats. It also boasts a generous 15.4-inch central screen, a 360-degree parking camera, and adaptive cruise control.

Moving up to the Pro model, priced at £33,990 OTR, buyers can enjoy additional features like 19-inch low-drag alloy wheels and the option of a stylish Cloud colour interior. For those seeking the ultimate in luxury, the Max model, available for £36,990 OTR, includes a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, a stunning 256-colour ambient lighting system, ventilated and massaging front seats with memory functionality, a high-end 16-speaker audio system complete with two driver headrest speakers, and a head-up display.

Safety is a top priority for Geely, and the EX5 has already earned a prestigious five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. It comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of passive and active safety systems to protect drivers and passengers alike.

To further support both private and fleet owners, Geely has set service intervals at 24 months or 20,000 miles, ensuring low running costs. The EX5 will also come with a comprehensive base warranty of six years, plus an additional two years, offering peace of mind to buyers.

In the short time since announcing its entry into the UK market, Geely Auto UK has made significant strides in establishing a franchised retailer network, demonstrating its commitment to providing excellent customer service. In collaboration with Lotus Engineering, a fellow Geely brand, the company is conducting thorough evaluations of the EX5, tailoring its performance to suit UK and European driving conditions.

Additionally, Geely Auto UK is working closely with Thatcham Research to determine the EX5’s insurance rating, ensuring that all necessary repairs can be carried out efficiently and to the required standards. Mike Yang, General Manager of Geely Auto UK, expressed confidence in the EX5, stating, “We believe we have a strong introductory model in the Geely EX5; a global car with several standout features we believe will appeal to the UK market. The packages and support we have in place to support our customers are exceptional.”
