Transport+Energy Forum: World Class Net-Zero Retrofit EV Funding

Welcome to Net Zero News, where we bring you the latest developments driving the UK’s transition to a net-zero future. Net Zero News can reveal that the Transport + Energy Forum has been described as ‘world class’ by delegates and attendees, registering an impressive net promoter score of 73.9%.

On 26 November 2025, the Transport + Energy Forum convened under the banner of Transport + Energy to bring together stakeholders from across the transport and energy sectors. The event drew a diverse audience of industry professionals, policy makers and technical experts who provided feedback on the forum’s content and format.

The forum featured a series of keynote presentations and panel discussions that explored the integration of renewable energy into transport systems, the role of battery technology in electric vehicles and the potential for hydrogen to decarbonise heavy goods transport. Presenters examined case studies of recent projects, technological innovation and emerging business models that could shape the sector’s future.

Technical workshops at the event addressed grid flexibility, smart charging infrastructure and the optimisation of energy storage solutions. Delegates engaged in deep dives on policy mechanisms, regulatory frameworks and investment strategies needed to support the electrification of public transport and freight operations across the UK.

In a significant step towards the UK’s net-zero goals, the high net promoter score demonstrates strong approval for the forum’s content and organisation. A score of 73.9% indicates that a substantial majority of attendees would recommend the event to colleagues, reflecting confidence in its relevance to ongoing decarbonisation efforts.

By highlighting best practices and facilitating peer-to-peer exchange, the forum is expected to accelerate the deployment of low-carbon transport solutions and foster collaboration between energy network operators, vehicle manufacturers and local authorities. These outcomes align with broader ambitions to cut transport emissions and meet interim climate targets.

The forum was organised by Transport + Energy magazine, which specialises in coverage of decarbonisation pathways for road, rail, aviation and marine sectors. Industry partners and sponsors supported the event, offering technical demonstrations, networking opportunities and insight into emerging finance models for green infrastructure.

Transport + Energy worked in partnership with delegates from government agencies, academic institutions and private sector organisations to deliver sessions that covered operational challenges, safety standards and lifecycle assessments for zero-emission vehicles. The collaborative approach underpinned the forum’s interactive and solution-oriented format.

Net Zero News understands this forms part of a wider effort to align transport policy with the UK’s legally binding commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The forum’s focus on integration between energy supply and transport demand supports the UK Government’s strategy to decarbonise both sectors in tandem.

Speakers referenced the UK’s Climate Change Act and the Transport Decarbonisation Plan, noting that forum outputs could inform future revisions of policy frameworks. The event also highlighted synergies with regional net-zero plans, emphasising the need for coordinated action across national and local levels.

Communities across the UK stand to benefit from the uptake of cleaner transport technologies showcased at the forum, including improved air quality and reduced noise pollution in urban areas. The forum also identified challenges around skills shortages and supply chain resilience, which stakeholders agreed must be addressed to sustain growth in green transport markets.

Industry leaders emphasised the importance of building public confidence in new energy solutions and ensuring equitable access to low-carbon infrastructure. Delegates noted that education and outreach will be critical to overcoming barriers to adoption and unlocking economic opportunities in regions transitioning away from fossil fuel reliance.

Transport + Energy will announce details of its next forum in due course, with plans to build on this year’s success by expanding session themes and increasing international participation. Attendees can expect further insight into cutting-edge research and collaborative projects as the UK advances towards its net-zero ambitions.
