EDF Offers EV Leasers 5,000 Free Electric Miles!

Hello, Champions of Net Zero!
Exciting news is on the horizon for electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts and eco-conscious drivers looking to make the leap toward sustainable transportation. EDF, one of the leading energy providers in the UK, is rolling out an enticing offer that could significantly ease the financial burden of transitioning to electric driving. With a generous £130 account credit available for those leasing an electric vehicle and signing up for EDF’s GoElectric tariff, there has never been a better time to go electric!
This compelling offer is not just a one-off incentive; it represents a commitment to supporting the growing number of individuals eager to make a positive impact on the environment without sacrificing convenience or affordability. The £130 credit is equivalent to a staggering 5,000 free electric miles, which means that customers could drive from London to Paris and back a remarkable nine times, or enjoy up to eight months of driving without the worry of additional charging costs.
What makes this offer even more appealing is that it is available to both new and existing customers who lease an electric vehicle through Drive Electric. Signing up for EDF’s GoElectric tariff means that drivers can enjoy the benefits of what is touted as the cheapest fixed EV tariff on the market. Compared to standard variable rates, this tariff offers a fantastic £316 in savings, delivering lower electricity costs for both their electric vehicles and their homes.
EDF’s GoElectric tariff is underpinned by 100% zero-carbon electricity, aligning perfectly with the sustainability goals of our Net Zero community. Additionally, it includes an attractive feature of five hours of off-peak charging between midnight and 5 am, allowing EV owners to charge their vehicles at the most cost-effective times.
But there’s more! For those driving selected eligible EV models and using approved chargers, EDF’s Smart Charging bolt-on can offer an additional saving of £251. This innovative feature empowers customers to harness off-peak electricity rates for both their vehicles and homes by enabling EDF to automatically charge their EV during times when electricity is cheapest and greenest. This not only maximises savings but also contributes to a greener energy grid.
To complement the offer, customers have the option to include a Pod Point Solo3S home charger with their lease for just £19.65 per month, supplied by Pod. This home charging solution makes it incredibly convenient to ensure that your EV is always ready to go, supporting seamless daily commutes and weekend adventures alike.
Rich Hughes, the director of retail at EDF, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating: “At a time when more EVs are becoming eligible for government grants, we’re offering 5,000 free miles upfront, along with a comprehensive package that covers leasing, charging, and energy savings. It’s everything drivers need to make the switch to electric driving an easy choice.”
For those keen to take advantage of this remarkable offer, it is important to note that it is available to anyone who leases an electric vehicle via Drive Electric between 12 August and 1 November 2025. Customers can expect to see the £130 credit applied to their account within 60 days of their EDF GoElectric tariff becoming active.
However, to qualify for this enticing deal, customers must have a smart meter installed and be opted into half-hourly meter readings. This ensures that EDF can provide the best possible service and pricing tailored to individual energy needs.
The transition to electric vehicles is not merely a trend; it’s a crucial step toward achieving net-zero emissions and fostering a sustainable future. By making electric driving more accessible and affordable, companies like EDF are playing an instrumental role in this transition. As we continue to advocate for greener practices and reduced carbon footprints, initiatives like the one offered by EDF represent a significant leap forward in creating a cleaner, more sustainable world.
As we look ahead, it’s clear that the future of transportation is electric. With supportive measures and incentives like those offered by EDF, we can all contribute to reducing our environmental impact while enjoying the benefits of modern technology. So, let’s embrace this opportunity and drive our way to a greener future!
