Dacia Sandero & Jogger: New Tech and Hybrid Features Unveiled

Hello, Champions of Net Zero!
In a bold move to enhance its vehicle lineup, Dacia has unveiled significant updates to its popular models: the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger. These mid-life revamps not only introduce a fresh aesthetic but also integrate advanced technology and sustainable powertrain options, aligning perfectly with the growing demand for greener transportation solutions.
The latest iterations of the Sandero supermini, the rugged Sandero Stepway, and the versatile Jogger MPV showcase a striking new design. With a revamped lighting signature at both the front and rear, they now boast an eye-catching presence on the road. Additionally, new wheel designs add a touch of elegance and style, ensuring that these vehicles not only perform well but also look the part.
One of the standout features of the Sandero Stepway and Jogger is the introduction of enhanced protective elements. These models now come equipped with rugged protections on the wheel arches, lower body, and fog light surrounds, crafted from Dacia’s innovative Starkle material. This robust material is notable for being paint-free, composed of 20% recycled plastic, and is fully recyclable—making it an environmentally friendly choice. Moreover, Starkle is designed to withstand the rigours of daily use, offering resistance to everyday scratches.
On the aesthetic front, the Sandero and Sandero Stepway introduce a vibrant new metallic body colour, Amber Yellow, alongside the now-available Sandstone hue on both the Sandero and Jogger. These colour options enhance the appeal of these vehicles, making them a standout choice for eco-conscious drivers looking for style without compromising their commitment to sustainability.
Inside the cabin, Dacia has focused on durability and modern technology. The vehicles now feature new, more resilient fabrics adorning the seats, dashboard, and doors. A state-of-the-art multimedia system has been introduced, boasting a generous 10-inch central screen complete with connected navigation capabilities and a wireless smartphone charger. Additionally, the revamped 7-inch digital driver display receives a fresh interface design, enhancing the overall user experience.
Continuing with its commitment to practicality, the new Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger are equipped with YouClip. This innovative system allows for the secure attachment of a variety of dedicated accessories at key points around the passenger compartment, ensuring a robust and functional interior.
Under the hood, Dacia is stepping up its game with notable powertrain enhancements. The new hybrid 155 unit, which made its debut in the Bigster, is now available for the Jogger, replacing the previous hybrid 140 system. This hybrid powertrain will also make its way to the Sandero Stepway by the fourth quarter of 2026, marking the introduction of electrification for this model for the very first time.
The full hybrid system combines a 109hp 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors—a 50hp motor and a high-voltage starter/generator—alongside a 1.4kWh battery operating at 230V. The automatic clutchless electric gearbox provides four gears for the internal combustion engine and two for the electric motor. This dynamic combination delivers an impressive 155hp and 170Nm of torque, resulting in a 10% reduction in both emissions and fuel consumption compared to the previous hybrid 140 system. Impressively, in urban settings, the Jogger can operate in all-electric mode for up to 80% of the time, and it always initiates in electric mode, promoting a quieter and cleaner drive.
The Sandero also benefits from a power boost, now featuring a revised 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 100hp, an increase from the previous 90hp. This engine is coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox, providing an exhilarating driving experience without sacrificing efficiency.
For those who prefer the Sandero Stepway and Jogger, both models continue to be available with the TCe 110 petrol engine and six-speed manual gearbox, ensuring a variety of options for drivers seeking performance and practicality.
In terms of safety and comfort, Dacia has introduced a suite of new features designed to elevate the driving experience. Automatic headlights, a multi-view camera, and power-folding door mirrors are now standard, enhancing both convenience and safety. Additionally, the new models come equipped with advanced driving aids that meet the latest European safety standards. These include automatic emergency braking capable of detecting vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorbikes, along with a driver attention alert system to help maintain focus on the road.
To streamline access to safety features, the new Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger include a ‘My Safety’ button, allowing drivers to quickly adjust their preferred Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) settings. This thoughtful addition underscores Dacia’s commitment to providing a user-friendly and safe driving environment.
In summary, Dacia’s latest updates to the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger demonstrate the brand’s dedication to innovation and sustainability. With their eye-catching designs, advanced technology, and eco-friendly powertrains, these vehicles are set to resonate strongly with environmentally conscious consumers seeking reliable and stylish transportation solutions. As we move towards a greener future, Dacia is clearly committed to leading the way in offering vehicles that not only meet modern demands but also contribute positively to our planet.
