🚙 Best Family SUV: Dacia Bigster

The Dacia Bigster wins for its unbeatable value starting around £21,000 with a 677-litre boot and genuine off-road ability.

“We even slept in it overnight to prove how practical it is,” jokes Welham. “A great all-rounder that delivers space and savings.”

🚗 Best Small SUV: Škoda Elroq

Compact yet capable, the Škoda Elroq impressed judges with its comfort and reliability.
“Think of it as the trusty family dog,” says Welham dependable and endlessly useful.

Runners-up: Volkswagen T-Roc | Ford Puma Gen-E (EV with 233-mile range)


🚘 Best Hatchback: Renault Clio Hybrid

The enduring Renault Clio Hybrid remains a fan favourite nimble, efficient, and fun to drive.

“Renault’s hybrid system and manual gearbox make this one a joy,” says Welham.

Runners-up: Hyundai INSTER (folding-seat camper option) | Alpine A290 (EV hot hatch)


🏁 Best Performance Car: Mercedes-AMG GT63

Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 and F1-inspired tech, the Mercedes-AMG GT63 delivers unmatched thrill.

“Engineering theatre at its finest,” says Welham. “It rivals Porsche’s best.”

⚡ Best Electric Car: BYD SEALION 7

Chinese innovation takes centre stage as the BYD SEALION 7 tops the EV category for range, design, and practicality.

“It rises to every challenge,” notes Welham. “An obvious EV winner.”

💸 Best Budget Car: Dacia Duster

At under £22,000, the Dacia Duster proves that affordability and capability can coexist.
