Rinnai Boosts Bakery Efficiency with High-Efficiency Water Heaters

Hello, Champions of Net Zero!

In an exciting development for the world of sustainable energy, Rinnai has successfully installed its cutting-edge I2HY20 Hydrogen blends 20% certified commercial water heaters at a prominent bread manufacturing facility in Bradford. This initiative is not just about providing hot water; it’s a vital step towards ensuring that large-scale industrial bakeries can operate efficiently and sustainably.

For those in the bakery industry, the need for a consistent flow of clean water is paramount. Water is essential not only for maintaining sanitation standards but also for the production of dough, a staple in baking. In fact, an industrial-scale bakery can consume anywhere from 10,000 to an astonishing 300,000 gallons of water daily. This highlights the necessity for a reliable and efficient hot water supply that can handle such immense demands.

To support the bakery in maintaining its operations without compromising production output, Rinnai’s design specialists identified the installation of a Rinnai N series unit as the optimal solution. The Rinnai N series range of commercial condensing water heaters is designed to deliver an abundance of temperature-accurate hot water, ensuring that the bakery’s needs are met consistently.

What sets Rinnai’s commercial water heaters apart is their impressive efficiency. With a tested efficiency rating of 97%, these units not only provide ample hot water but also do so while minimising energy waste. Traditional hot water systems often suffer from standing losses due to water storage, but Rinnai’s condensing water heaters avoid this pitfall entirely, resulting in substantial cost savings for commercial operations.

The Rinnai Sensei N Series continuous flow hot water heater range boasts a compact design with enhanced combustion technology. This innovation not only simplifies installation but also optimises operational performance and serviceability, making it a favourite among industry professionals.

Notably, the N Series represents a significant advancement in hot water heating technology, being the first continuous flow unit in the UK to feature stainless steel heat exchangers. This design innovation extends the working life of the units while ensuring they operate at peak performance. Furthermore, Rinnai offers market-leading extended warranties, guaranteeing customer satisfaction and peace of mind.

The N Series consists of four models, each tailored to meet varying hot water demands:

  • N1600i: Delivers 954 litres per hour at 50 degrees.
  • N1600e (External): Also provides 954 litres per hour at 50 degrees.
  • N1300i: Produces 775 litres per hour at a controlled temperature of 50 degrees.
  • N1300e (External): Offers 775 litres per hour at 50 degrees as well.

The two N1600 models are classified with XXL load profiles and carry a water efficiency class A rating, while the N1300 models are rated XL with the same water efficiency class A. This classification underscores Rinnai’s commitment to sustainability and efficient resource utilisation.

Moreover, the entire N Series is designed to be low-NOx, emitting less than 26 parts per million (ppm), which contributes positively to sustainability ratings, such as BREEAM. The continuous flow water heater utilises Rinnai’s patented advanced burner technology, featuring an impressive 13-1 turn-down ratio—one of the largest available on the market. This combination of high efficiency and advanced control mechanisms allows the units to operate at optimal energy levels.

The intelligent modulation capabilities of the N Series ensure that energy consumption is finely tuned, heating water only to the necessary temperature. This not only preserves energy but also aligns perfectly with the net-zero goals of reducing carbon footprints across various industries.

Rinnai is steadfast in its mission to design and produce cost-effective solutions for commercial operations that require significant access to clean hot water. In addition to the N Series, Rinnai is expanding its portfolio of clean power alternative technologies through its H3 product range. This innovative series includes hydrogen, solar, and hybrid decarbonising technologies suitable for both domestic and commercial applications.

As the world moves towards sustainable energy solutions, Rinnai stands at the forefront, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in energy-efficient water heating. If you’re considering your next water heating or heating project, Rinnai offers expert support to help you navigate your options. For assistance, please reach out to us today via our contact page.
