Importantly, the energy powering these charging points will be entirely renewable. SEAT has utilised certified green electricity across all its facilities since 2012, and in 2025, this will be bolstered by energy generated from the company’s solar power plant, ensuring self-consumption and further reducing its carbon footprint.

Moreover, SEAT is committed to tripling the number of charging points available in the parking lots around its Martorell factory within the next year, increasing the total to 140. These chargers will also be made publicly accessible, further promoting the use of electric vehicles in the local community.

Wayne Griffiths, CEO of SEAT and CUPRA, emphasised the company’s commitment to leading the charge in the electrification journey. He stated, “At SEAT, we lead by example. In 2025, we will continue advancing our electrification journey while striving to make Spain a hub for electromobility alongside the Volkswagen Group. We want SEAT S.A.’s people to be the first drivers of change. We are encouraging the use of electrified vehicles among employees and strengthening our charging network. We are firmly committed but we also need support from the administrations, with concrete measures to accelerate this transformation nationwide.”
