Village Health Club Adds IONITY Chargers for Electric Vehicles
Village Hotel Club Drives Towards a Greener Future with Ultra-Rapid EV Charging Points
In an exciting move for sustainable travel, Village Hotel Club is set to revolutionise electric vehicle (EV) charging across the UK. This initiative, in partnership with IONITY, aims to install 380 ultra-rapid charging points at its 33 locations, making it easier than ever for EV drivers to recharge quickly and efficiently.
Fast Charging for Everyone
These ultra-rapid chargers will cater to all vehicle types, allowing guests, local communities, and the general public to recharge up to 80% of their electric vehicle in just 10-15 minutes. Imagine being able to power up your car while enjoying a workout at the local Village Gym or grabbing a coffee at the onsite Starbucks!
Key Benefits of the New Charging Points:
- Speed: Charge your EV in under 15 minutes.
- Accessibility: Open to all EV models, serving both guests and the public.
- Sustainability: All chargers will be powered by 100% renewable energy sources, including wind, solar, and hydroelectric power.
Supporting the UK’s Green Objectives
This rollout is a significant step towards supporting the UK Government’s ambitious target of having 80% of new cars sold be electric by 2030. Kelli Turner, General Counsel and Director of ESG at Village Hotel Club, emphasised the importance of corporate responsibility in this green transition. She stated, “At Village, we’re proud to play a role in supporting this shift… allowing electric vehicle users to charge much faster than a standard charger.”
Village Green Initiative
The installation of ultra-rapid chargers is part of the Village Green programme, Village Hotel Club’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. This initiative aims to positively impact the communities where they operate, both environmentally and socially.
A Partnership for Change
Andreas Atkins, Country Manager for IONITY UK & Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Ultra-rapid charging is a foundation of the EV revolution across the UK, making EV driving easier and more accessible than ever before.” He noted that this partnership will not only enhance the EV charging network but will also inject valuable resources into local economies, benefiting nearby businesses.
Economic Boost for Local Communities
As these charging hubs attract new footfall, they have the potential to inject hundreds of thousands of pounds into local economies. This initiative can help local businesses thrive while contributing to a greener future for all.
Join the Movement Towards Sustainable Mobility
As we embrace electric vehicles, the installation of ultra-rapid charging points marks a pivotal moment in making long-distance EV travel more feasible. With Village Hotel Club leading the charge, it’s clear that the transition to sustainable mobility is not just a dream—it’s becoming our new reality.
