Rettie has hired Daniel Cohen as an associate director from Nicol Estate Agents to further strengthen its leadership team in the Southside of Glasgow.

Mr. Cohen will be based at Rettie’s Newton Mearns office, collaborating closely with area director Kay Blair, who joined from Clyde Property earlier this year.

Rettie had a prosperous quarter in Q3, with sales in the Southside surpassing home report values by double digits. Apartments and family homes were selling for as much as 25% above their home report value. The Southside offices in Newton Mearns and Shawlands are experiencing significant growth within the localities and across Giffnock, Pollokshields, Cathcart, Strathbungo, and Queen’s Park.

Kay Blair, area director at Rettie, commented, “One of the key factors driving house price increases is families relocating to the Southside and East Renfrewshire for access to high-quality state schooling. It’s fantastic to have Daniel on board in Newton Mearns as we strive to expand our market presence in East Renfrewshire. The current market can be best described as buoyant, with sales consistently surpassing offers well above home report values.”

Daniel Cohen, associate director at Rettie and a former sales manager at Nicol Estate Agents, expressed his excitement, saying, “Having grown up in the Southside and worked there and in East Renfrewshire, I am thrilled to embark on the next phase of my career with Rettie in Newton Mearns, collaborating with colleagues across the Southside, East Renfrewshire, and Scotland.”

Rettie established its Newton Mearns office in 2015, with associate director Alison Anderson stationed there since its inception. Daniel Cohen now joins former Nicol Estate Agents colleague Erica McFarlane at Rettie, with the senior sales negotiator having joined the firm in 2022.
