Hongqi unveils luxury EV prices for UK market

Chinese automaker Hongqi has officially released pricing details for its EH7 and EHS7 electric vehicles after their debut at the prestigious Paris Motor Show. The brand, which is a part of the state-owned FAW Group, has expressed its ambitious plans for the European market and has confirmed its imminent launch in the UK.
The company, established in 1958 and named after the Mandarin term for ‘red flag’, aims to revolutionise the luxury automotive experience through its state-of-the-art technology and unwavering commitment to sustainability. Hongqi is positioning itself as a dominant figure in the premium electric vehicle sector.
The EH7 saloon and EHS7 SUV made their debut at the Paris Motor Show. These vehicles are built on the TianGong electric platform, which facilitates both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive setups, offering versatile performance across various vehicle types. They utilise CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology and high-capacity battery cells, boasting an impressive estimated range of up to 800km (497 miles).
With WLTP ranges of 655km (406 miles) for the EH7 and 600km (372 miles) for the EHS7, these models also feature rapid-charging technology that enables charging from 10% to 80% in just approximately 20 minutes.
Hongqi has now divulged the pricing details for these electric vehicles, with the EH7 priced starting from €49,999 (approximately £41,600) and the EHS7 starting at €53,999 (around £45,000).
Setting a grand vision for the future, the company aims to introduce an additional 10 new models in the next five years, showcasing its dedication to meeting the increasing demand for top-quality, smart, and environmentally friendly vehicles among consumers in Europe and globally.
The luxury-oriented automaker has also announced a strategic partnership with Car East France to enhance its dealership network throughout the region. The brand is establishing a comprehensive after-sales network across Europe with service centres in 29 countries, including Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden.
