Taylor Wimpey set to build new homes in Livingston.

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has recently put forward an application seeking approval from the West Lothian Council for the detailed aspects related to its Planning Permission in Principle for the development of land at the former Brotherton Farm in Livingston.

The proposed development aims to introduce 293 new homes, with a commitment that 25% of them will be affordable. The submission encompasses Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s intricate plans for housing, landscaping, and materials to be used in the development.

The array of housing options includes two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes designed to cater to a diverse range of potential buyers. Among them, the affordable homes will offer one, two, and three-bedroom residences available for social rent. This development also marks the debut of a new range of homes that the housebuilder has in mind to construct in Scotland.

Nestled in a picturesque semi-rural setting surrounded by existing woodland and within close proximity to the A8/M8 motorway network, Limefield Grove is set to encompass nine acres of open space, a fresh linear park, and a fully-equipped play area. Moreover, the site will incorporate new pedestrian and cycle connections linking to the existing networks in Livingston, along with green pathways to Limefield Glen, creating a serene and appealing place to settle down.

Pauline Mills, the technical director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to announce our comprehensive planning application for the development of land at Brotherton Farm in Livingston. This submission underscores our substantial and continual investment in the local West Lothian area, and we eagerly anticipate positive discussions with the local authority to advance this project.”

“Our envisioned development at Limefield Grove will champion a pioneering approach to biodiversity by incorporating bug hotels, bird and bat boxes, bee-friendly flora, and top-notch biodiverse landscaping across the site. Furthermore, each new residence will feature a high-performance building structure and the integration of solar PV panels to contribute towards minimising the overall carbon footprint of the development,” she added.

“In addition to an impressive array of new homes, our proposed development will also bring forth a variety of economic advantages for the local Livingston community. This includes generating new employment opportunities throughout the construction phase and attracting new clientele to local businesses from residents opting for one of the new homes slated to be delivered by this development,” Mills highlighted.
