Dear Net Zero Club News Network readers,
The Local Government, Housing, and Planning Committee is currently seeking the public’s input on the Scottish Housing Regulator to evaluate its operations and effectiveness. The deadline to share your views is this Friday, 11th October, at 11:59 pm.
Last year, Evelyn Tweed, the Stirling MSP, called for an investigation into the Scottish Housing Regulator, highlighting concerns about its practices. She expressed gratitude to all individuals and organizations that have engaged with her on this important matter and encouraged anyone with reservations about the regulator to participate in the committee’s inquiry. Ms Tweed emphasized the opportunity for individuals to voice their concerns anonymously, ensuring that every voice is heard and recorded.
The committee is particularly interested in feedback from tenants, third sector organizations, local authorities, housing associations, academics, and individuals with direct experience with the Scottish Housing Regulator. The public is invited to share their views via an online form, with the option to remain anonymous, before the deadline on 11th October at 11:59 pm.
Ms Tweed further underscored the need for accountability within the Scottish Housing Regulator and encouraged those who have concerns about its conduct and culture to come forward and share their perspectives. She acknowledged the anxieties surrounding speaking up against the regulator but reassured individuals that they can contact the committee directly via email to discuss their views confidentially.
