Fife Housing Group Donates £20k to Local Charities

Fife Housing Group recently celebrated the recipients of their Giving Something Back Grants for 2024 with a vibrant community event that showcased the impactful work of local organisations. The grants, now in their fourth year, were established to acknowledge and support initiatives that are making a positive difference across Fife. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of contractors who contribute 2% of their invoiced costs to fund these worthy causes.
The ‘Pitches, Prizes and Pizza’ event invited successful grant applicants to present their projects to local residents and a panel of judges, including notable figures like David Torrance MSP, Councillor Julie MacDougall, and Penny Anderson from Fife Housing Group’s Resident VOICES. After the pitches, judges, which included Sandra Stock, Beverley Graham, and John Bell, diligently selected ten community organisations to receive funding.
The deserving recipients included Amazing Grace – Friends of Fetal Medicine, Central Park Community Trust, New4U Children’s Clothing Bank, Autism Rocks, Rosyth Men’s Shed, Kirkcaldy YMCA, Leven Environment Group, Gallatown Community Initiative, East Fife Male Choir, and Cowdenbeath After School Club. John Bell, a judge and tenant, expressed his delight at being part of the event, praising the impactful projects presented. Sandra Stock, another judge, commended the groups for their inspiring work and emotional presentations.
Aside from the pitches, the event featured delicious pizzas, bagpipe music by Piping Hot Pizza, outdoor activities for children, and a lively game of bingo. Held at the Hayfield Community Centre in Kirkcaldy, the atmosphere was filled with positivity and community spirit.
The next round of Giving Something Back Grants is set to open for applications in Spring 2025, offering groups an opportunity to secure additional funding for their projects.
