Plans for 19 new homes in Kinloch Rannoch go ahead

Andrew Black Design has received planning permission in principle for the construction of 19 homes in the picturesque village of Kinloch Rannoch. This development, spearheaded by Rannoch Community Trust and Dunalastair Estate, aims to offer a blend of affordable and private housing options to the local community.

The proposed project includes the construction of 12 homes available for affordable rent or purchase, as well as seven homes for private rent or sale. To ensure long-term affordability, a rural housing burden will be enforced on the affordable homes, guaranteeing that they remain within reach for generations to come.

Designed to cater to the diverse needs of residents, the development will feature a mix of 2 and 3-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses. Additionally, select units will be designated as live-work spaces, fostering an environment conducive to the establishment of new rural enterprises.

Emphasizing the importance of green spaces and sustainable living, the plans include a landscaped area to the west of the houses. This space will accommodate SuDS ponds, trees, and soft landscaping elements, enriching the natural surroundings. Moreover, a designated walking and cycling route will connect a scenic picnic area to the south with the B846 road to the north, promoting active travel and integrating seamlessly with existing green and blue networks.

This holistic approach not only addresses the housing needs of the community but also prioritizes environmental sustainability and connectivity. By creating a harmonious blend of residential, commercial, and green spaces, the development in Kinloch Rannoch aspires to enrich the lives of its residents and foster a thriving, inclusive community for years to come.
