Osprey enhances Welsh EV charging
Osprey Charging, a leading rapid charging firm, has taken a significant step towards enhancing access to public charging in Wales. With the installation of ten new EV chargers at Capital Shopping Park in Cardiff, the company has highlighted its commitment to revolutionising the EV charging infrastructure in the UK.
Capital Shopping Park now boasts eight cutting-edge 300kW DC chargers, capable of adding up to 100 miles of range in a mere 15 to 20 minutes. Additionally, two AC chargers are available for EV owners who plan to stay longer at the shopping park. This move aims to not only promote EV adoption in the area but also to strengthen the national charging network of the UK, ultimately contributing to improved air quality, reduced noise pollution, and local decarbonisation efforts.
Osprey has taken full responsibility for funding the installation, operation, and maintenance of these chargers, ensuring that they are powered by renewable energy sources. The company prides itself on offering rapid charge points that are compatible with all EV models currently on the market. What’s more, users can conveniently pay for their charging session using contactless bank cards, Apple or Google Pay, the Osprey App, RFID card payments, and various other payment methods, including fleet cards. The integration of Osprey Iris, the company’s proprietary software, further enhances the reliability and innovation of EV roaming.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in Osprey’s nationwide deployment of public charging infrastructure, strategically positioned in key locations across the UK. With over 1,000 operational chargers now available for public use, Osprey’s network has expanded by an impressive 150% in 2023.
