New Park Homes Discount Scheme by Charis 2024/25

The annual Park Homes Warm Home Discount Scheme, run by Charis, is now open for applications. This scheme provides a £150 payment to permanent park home and static caravan residents in England, Scotland, and Wales to assist with their energy costs. Supported by E.ON Next, Utilita, OVO, and Rebel Energy, the Charis Park Homes Warm Home Discount is an Ofgem-regulated initiative.

Across England, Scotland, and Wales, there are approximately 110,000 park home and static caravan residential addresses. These residents, usually elderly and retired, often struggle with low incomes and have historically not received adequate financial support. However, through the Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme, thousands of park home residents are now receiving vital assistance, with the number of recipients increasing each year.

Many park homes and static caravans lack proper insulation, and residents often rely on older, energy-inefficient electrical appliances due to financial constraints. The £150 payment provided by the scheme can be a lifeline for these individuals and their families, who would otherwise be at risk of cold-related illnesses during the winter months due to fuel poverty.

Jonathan Hunt, Charis’ director of client services, emphasised the significance of the scheme, stating, “Historically, park home residents have missed out on much-needed financial support because they were unaware of available assistance. The Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme plays a crucial role in financially supporting these households.”

Charis has once again partnered with Lightning Reach to facilitate the online application process. Individuals seeking assistance with their application can seek help from a friend or family member or contact Charis’ customer support team during regular business hours.

Due to the limited funding available, applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all funding has been allocated, the scheme will be closed for the year.
