Cassiltoun marks 40th anniversary with AGM and celebration night
On Monday 12th August 2024, Cassiltoun Housing Association marked a significant milestone as they celebrated their 40th AGM, commemorating four decades of service and community impact.
The event saw a gathering of 46 members who eagerly listened to insights shared by the Chief Executive, Clair Malpas, and the Chairperson, Anna Stuart MBE. They delved into the rich history of Cassiltoun spanning 40 years, as well as reflecting on the 70th anniversary of Castlemilk. The highlights of the previous year were celebrated, while acknowledging the challenges that lay ahead. Notably, the appointment of the external auditor Azets was confirmed after a rigorous procurement process.
The AGM also saw the election of the Board of Management, with 5 new nominations contributing to a total of 14 individuals who will steer the organisation in the coming year. The spirit of collaboration and commitment to community welfare shone through as members engaged in Bingo games and interacted with staff, exchanging thoughts over light refreshments.
The Technical Team set up a table at the entrance, offering repair assistance and distributing free Hygrometer-Thermometers to help members monitor humidity and temperature levels in their homes. A festive atmosphere prevailed as all present were entered into a prize draw, with 3 lucky members receiving Asda vouchers to mark the 40th Anniversary.
Following the AGM, on Friday 2nd August 2024, the board and staff came together for a celebration evening that brought together former staff and Board members. The evening was punctuated by heartfelt speeches from the current Chairperson and founder member, Anna Stuart MBE, as well as the current CEO, Clair Malpas, and two former CEOs, Charlie Turner and Charlie Millar. Their shared anecdotes provided a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about their time with Cassiltoun.
The atmosphere was vibrant and nostalgic as old friends reconnected, capturing precious moments in a photobooth and culminating in a lively karaoke session that brought everyone together in harmony. The celebration evening truly encapsulated the spirit of unity and dedication that has defined Cassiltoun Housing Association over the past four decades.
