North Lanarkshire tenants win Provost award.
The NL Federation of Tenants & Residents has been honoured with the Special Achievement Award for its outstanding contributions to the community. The prestigious award was presented at this year’s Provost’s Awards ceremony, held at Dalziel Park on Friday 20th September.
Provost Kenneth Duffy praised the organisation for its exceptional dedication to representing and advocating for the interests of North Lanarkshire residents. With over 200 years of combined service, the Federation’s executive committee members devote numerous hours each week to various activities, from committee meetings to tenant scrutiny panels.
Thanks to their hard work, there have been significant advancements in housing standards, tenant engagement, and community development within the region. The Federation serves as a prominent voice for local groups, ensuring that residents’ concerns are brought to light.
Nominations for the Provost’s Awards were submitted by local councillors and community board members to acknowledge the unsung heroes whose commitment goes above and beyond to support others. Provost Duffy expressed his admiration for the exceptional individuals and groups who dedicate their time and efforts to improve the lives of others.
He stated, “Our towns and villages are blessed with so many remarkable groups and individuals who selflessly contribute to their communities. After careful consideration, 37 deserving winners were selected from over 150 nominations across our nine community board areas.”
The Provost expressed his gratitude for the inspiring efforts of all the nominees and winners, highlighting their selflessness and dedication. He concluded by expressing his excitement for next year’s event and encouraged everyone to continue their exceptional work in their communities.
