NHS Scotland boosts housing leaders with digital skills.
NHS Education for Scotland has announced an exciting initiative to empower housing and care sector leaders with a digital mindset. The organisation will be providing fully funded Digital Mindset sessions tailored specifically for senior leaders and board members, aimed at equipping them with the confidence and knowledge needed to lead and support the transformation of services.
These sessions highlight the fact that digital transformation is not solely about technology; it’s about placing people at the forefront of service design. The goal is to create a culture where leaders can view things through a digital lens, enabling them to inform, question, and challenge traditional methods. This approach is intended to reshape future systems and drive meaningful improvements for service users, all while investing in the future workforce.
A recent participant, Stuart Green, who serves as the director of finance and digital improvement at Ark Housing, shared his thoughts on the impact of these sessions. He emphasised the importance of understanding that digital transformation extends beyond typical system replacement projects, focusing on the needs of both staff and customers for the transformation to succeed.
Green encouraged senior leaders, especially those without a digital or technical background, to participate in these sessions. By doing so, they can effectively support the digital transformation agenda within their organisations.
These sessions offer a valuable opportunity for leaders to learn how they can drive digital change effectively. By concentrating on the principles of service design and cultivating a digital mindset, leaders will be better prepared to guide their organisations through present challenges and beyond.
