Kingdom Housing Association recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline, where members, board members, and staff gathered to commemorate the achievements and milestones of the past year.
Linda Leslie, the Chair of Kingdom Housing Association, kicked off the event by emphasising the organisation’s dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing high-quality affordable homes.
Leslie stated, “In the past 12 months, we have operated in a challenging economic climate marked by soaring food and energy prices, as well as rising interest rates which have exacerbated the cost of living crisis. Despite these difficult conditions, both our customers and colleagues have faced, the staff at the Kingdom Group have continued to work collaboratively as One Kingdom, transcending teams, departments, and office locations, to offer a range of services that truly make a difference to our customers and communities.”
She went on to say, “Our mission goes beyond merely providing a home. As we have expanded our scope from housing into property management and social care, our wraparound services have helped our customers and their wider family networks to realise their full potential.”
Attendees at the AGM were informed of another successful year for Kingdom, with nearly £47 million invested in constructing affordable housing, resulting in the completion of 367 new homes and the commencement of work on an additional 377. The maintenance of existing properties also remained a top priority, with £5 million allocated towards improving customers’ homes.
In response to the ongoing cost of living crisis, Kingdom’s Tenancy Sustainment Service opened almost 2,000 new cases for customers, assisting them in accessing over £1.3 million in financial benefits.
Leigh Grubb, Kingdom’s group director of corporate services, expressed his pride in the achievements of the past year, stating, “Reflecting on the past year, I am immensely proud of everything we have accomplished for our customers and communities. We have made significant progress towards our strategic goals while ensuring our homes are secure, sustainable, and affordable. We have nurtured our existing partnerships, including those with the Scottish Government and local authorities, and forged innovative collaborations with esteemed organisations like the University of St Andrews.”
Grubb continued, “My gratitude goes out to the management and staff for their hard work and dedication over the past 12 months, bolstered by the exceptional leadership provided by the boards across the Kingdom Group.”
