Yutong buses boost Pelican’s services

Electric bus and coach firm Pelican has exciting news to share – manufacturer Yutong has successfully delivered 200,000 zero tailpipe emission vehicles to the company. This incredible milestone has been achieved in less than 25 years since the very first vehicle was put into service back in 1999.

This substantial volume includes a range of vehicles such as buses and coaches, with options available in both electric and hydrogen variants. It’s a significant step towards sustainable transportation and reducing overall carbon emissions in the industry.

Ian Downie, the Head of Yutong UK, expressed his delight at this accomplishment, stating, “This is a major achievement as our vehicles have already covered an impressive 44.2 billion kilometres in operational service. Our proven products remain at the forefront of zero emission technology.”

He went on to highlight the environmental impact of these vehicles, noting that the emissions benefits from their mileage equate to planting a staggering 140,000 hectares of trees. The commitment to eco-friendly transportation solutions is clear with Yutong’s dedication to providing efficient and environmentally conscious vehicles.

Looking ahead, Yutong is eager to showcase their zero emission buses and coaches, alongside their diesel coaches, at the upcoming Euro Bus Expo. This event will provide a platform to engage with customers and emphasise the crucial role that buses and coaches play in sustainable passenger transport.

This collaboration between Yutong and Pelican is paving the way for a greener future in the public transportation sector, with a clear focus on innovation and sustainability.
