Yorkhill AGM Marks Successful Year

The 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Yorkhill Housing Association took place at the Overnewton Centre on the 19th of September. Members and guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of 203/24 and to set the stage for the future years ahead.

Chairperson Yvonne Alexis addressed the attendees, acknowledging that the past year had presented both challenges and opportunities. The new senior management team at Yorkhill has been diligently working together to shape the organisation’s direction and adapt to the evolving technological landscape. Alexis expressed her gratitude to the team for their unwavering support during her first year as chair.

Despite the financial constraints in the current economic climate and the ongoing Housing Emergency, Yorkhill Housing Association has been resilient in its response to these challenges. The community-focused organisation is dedicated to serving the needs of its residents and promoting sustainable development.

Exciting initiatives are on the horizon for Yorkhill, including the redevelopment plans for the Overnewton Centre. These projects aim to enhance the facility’s usage and benefit the broader Yorkhill community.

During the AGM, Azets Audit Services was appointed as the official external auditors following a presentation of the annual accounts. This move signifies the Association’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial operations.

Tony Mallaghan, the chief executive of Yorkhill Housing Association, expressed his delight at the strong turnout and the presence of new faces at the AGM. He emphasised the organisation’s mission to build upon its past successes and solidify its role as a cornerstone of the community.
