New InstaVolt hub near M4!

InstaVolt, a leading charging firm, has recently unveiled a state-of-the-art 12-charger EV hub at Lydiard Fields, catering to drivers on the bustling M4 motorway near Swindon.

This latest charging site boasts 12 ultra-rapid charging bays, including six accessible bays, as well as a range of amenities such as Subway, Costa Coffee, Greggs, and a Londis convenience store. Strategically located near junction 16 of the M4 motorway, this site sees a high volume of traffic, with approximately 6,000 vehicles passing through during morning and evening peak times.

InstaVolt, headquartered in Basingstoke, stands as one of the UK’s largest ultra-rapid EV charging networks, and the Lydiard Fields site is a testament to its ongoing investment in essential infrastructure.

The launch of Lydiard Fields marks a significant milestone for InstaVolt as part of its ambitious plan to deploy 11,000 ultra-rapid chargers across the UK and Ireland. Chief Commercial Officer Simon Smith emphasised the importance of this new site, stating:

“Lydiard Fields is another strategic location for us, given the increasing number of fully electric cars on UK roads. The area surrounding junction 16 of the M4 underwent a substantial upgrade in 2018 to accommodate future traffic demands and support planned developments in the region, thereby contributing to the economic vitality of Swindon and Wiltshire.”

Smith continued, “As traffic levels are projected to surge by more than 50% in upcoming years, it is imperative that EV drivers have access to a reliable ultra-rapid charging infrastructure. Establishing sites like Lydiard Fields is crucial in enhancing the nationwide charging network, instilling confidence in both the EV sector and motorists transitioning towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.”
