Horizon CEO Lorna Cameron set to retire
Lorna Cameron, after dedicating almost 35 years to public service, is set to retire as the Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Housing next month. At 60 years old, Lorna shared that the time has arrived for her to step back, prioritising more time with family and friends and potentially pursuing further educational opportunities. She expressed her excitement about potentially exploring new courses and learning opportunities awaiting her.
Lorna Cameron’s legacy of commitment to enhancing the delivery of accessible housing in Scotland will shine brightly in the upcoming Housing & Social Care Accessibility Summit, organised by Horizon Housing in collaboration with Scottish Housing News, scheduled for the next week. The one-day summit, generously supported by Campion Homes and Hanover Scotland, will bring together leaders from various sectors to engage in discussions revolving around how accessible housing can alleviate pressure on social care and healthcare services, brainstorm innovative solutions for current challenges, forge new partnerships in support of prevention and early intervention, and draft actionable recommendations for positive change.
Reflecting on her time at Horizon, Lorna Cameron expressed her gratitude towards her colleagues, acknowledging the dedication, kindness, and compassion of the staff, board members, and tenants she worked with. She remarked on the fulfilling nature of her career, surrounded by individuals who tirelessly endeavoured to care for and uplift others, aiming to enhance the quality of their lives.
