Chief Executive Nicola Logan stressed the importance of tenant feedback and involvement in shaping future service delivery. She mentioned the recent Big Conversation event that initiated the rent consultation process for the upcoming year, urging all tenants to participate in surveys regarding their priorities as these results will directly impact rent adjustments.

The AGM also bid farewell to Simon Gaunt as he stepped down from his role as chairperson, acknowledging his valuable contributions. The Association welcomed two new board members, Paul Watson and Timothy Kato, to strengthen the leadership team.

Post the formal AGM proceedings, the evening transitioned into a recognition ceremony where various awards were presented to community members.

Jack Findlay also received an Alasdair McKee Award

In honour of the late chief executive Alasdair McKee, the Association established the Alasdair McKee Award dedicated to his memory. Collaborating with WorkingRite, a youth employment charity, for over a decade, Glen Oaks has continued Alasdair’s legacy of supporting local youth in securing permanent jobs or apprenticeships.

A judging panel, which included Alasdair’s wife Diane, selected Steven March as the Rising Star of 2024 and Jack Findlay as the Most Inspirational Young Person. Additionally, Good Neighbour Awards and Garden Competition prizes were presented to deserving local residents, acknowledging their contributions and efforts within the community.
