Exciting Event Marks Anniversary Prelude
Energy efficiency charity Scarf is gearing up to celebrate its momentous 40th anniversary with a special one-day event in Aberdeen next month. The organisation has unveiled plans for Empower Aberdeen, a free-to-attend expo and series of presentations at Aberdeen Music Hall on Monday, October 7th. This event, spearheaded by Scarf and supported by Vital Energi, Poverty Alliance, and Aberdeen City Council Community Planning, aims to bring together nearly 40 not-for-profit and third-sector organisations, along with over 100 professionals offering valuable advice on energy efficiency, finances, housing, food banks, neurodiversity awareness, and wellbeing.
Empower Aberdeen is a unique initiative in the area, designed to provide attendees with a wealth of practical advice and support. The event is part of Scarf’s ongoing efforts to deliver unbiased energy-saving guidance to help reduce fuel bills and carbon emissions for households, communities, and businesses across North East Scotland.
Dave Sims, Scarf’s contracts & commercial manager, highlighted the importance of the event during Challenge Poverty Week, which runs from October 7th to 13th. He stated, “We have been working diligently to bring together a diverse range of organisations to make high-quality advice easily accessible. Our goal is for visitors to establish robust support networks and increase awareness of the assistance available in and around the city.”
Co-CEO of Scarf, Lawrence Johnston, emphasised the significance of the event as the organisation approaches its 40th anniversary in 2025. He expressed his delight in creating a platform that offers a variety of support services to the community.
With a focus on collaboration, empowerment, and education, Empower Aberdeen promises to be a transformative event for all those in attendance. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights, build connections, and access resources that can positively impact their lives and the environment.
As Scarf looks forward to celebrating four decades of service to the community, Empower Aberdeen serves as a testament to the organisation’s commitment to supporting individuals and promoting sustainable practices. Don’t miss this opportunity to join the celebration and empower yourself with knowledge and resources for a brighter, more energy-efficient future.
