Scottish charities welcome to seek Miller Homes funding

Miller Homes is calling on local groups and causes throughout Scotland to participate in its upcoming round of funding, offering those in need near its developments a chance to receive a portion of £10,000. The Community Fund application process is now open for submissions.

Since its launch in September 2022, the homebuilder has been significantly impacting the surrounding communities of its developments through this charitable initiative, which has proven to be highly successful.

With a total of 2,128 groups and charities applying, Miller Homes has successfully awarded grants to 324 deserving causes, amounting to £231,000 in funding. Across Scotland East and Scotland West regions, as well as Walker Timber in Bo’ness, the company has supported 109 groups, directly benefiting the communities near its projects.

David McGrath, the divisional managing director for Miller Homes Scotland, emphasised the importance of local support.

He stated: “The Community Fund is our way of giving back to the communities in which we operate. Every year, we receive a wide range of applications and have helped various causes, from assisting local sports teams with resources, to nurturing musical groups, to aiding community gardening initiatives and charitable organizations, including foodbanks.”

“Whether you are starting a new project and require financial assistance or need funds to sustain existing efforts, the Community Fund offers valuable support,” McGrath added.

During the application process, groups are required to outline how they intend to utilise the funding to benefit the community, whether through educational or wellbeing programmes, promoting sports and activities, or enhancing the local environment.

The deadline for Community Fund applications is Monday, 28th October, with grant amounts ranging from a minimum of £250 to a maximum of £2,000. Successful applicants will be notified in November, and payments will be issued in December.
