Ford unveils details for new E-Transit Courier at IAA show

Ford has recently unveiled the E-Transit Courier in Europe ahead of its official launch, adding a new electric option to the Transit line-up. The compact electric van made its debut at the IAA Transportation 2024 event, joining the previously released ICE versions of the Transit.
The E-Transit Courier was first revealed 18 months ago, but details about its electric powertrain were scarce. Ford has now confirmed that the van will come equipped with a 43kWh battery, offering a range of up to 186 miles/300km (WLTP). In addition, it boasts a 700kg payload capacity and 25% more load space compared to the previous Transit Courier model.
Charging the E-Transit Courier will be convenient and efficient, with the ability to charge at up to 100kW DC, providing a 10-80% charge in approximately 23 minutes. An onboard 11kW charger will also allow for 10 to 100% AC three-phase charging in just 5.7 hours. The van will feature regenerative braking for ‘one-pedal’ driving.
Inside, the E-Transit Courier will come equipped with a pair of 12-inch displays – one for the driver and the other for infotainment. The infotainment system will feature Ford’s Sync4 cloud-connected technology for in-car communication and entertainment.
Production of the E-Transit Courier is set to commence in late 2024, with customer deliveries expected in 2025. The van will be part of Ford’s growing line-up of electrified Transit models, including the E-Transit, E-Transit Custom, and Transit Connect PHEV.
At the IAA event, Ford also introduced the all-new Ranger PHEV to the public, showcasing its commitment to electrification. In addition, the company unveiled new connected services, such as end-to-end charging solutions, enhanced telematics features in Ford Pro, and improved uptime through FordLiive.
