New Peugeot 3008 with 52-mile electric range

Peugeot’s latest addition to its crossover range, the 3008 plug-in hybrid, is now hitting the market, offering drivers a more eco-friendly and cost-effective powertrain option.

The new PHEV powertrain is also making its debut on the larger 5008 SUV model, expanding Peugeot’s electrified range. This plug-in hybrid technology joins the existing fully electric and mild hybrid versions in the third-generation lineup, boasting an impressive electric-only range of up to 52 miles according to WLTP standards, all starting from a price of £40,650.

Underneath the hood, the plug-in hybrid 195 e-DSC7 powertrain features an upgraded iteration of the 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged PureTech petrol engine carried over from the previous-generation 3008 PHEV. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 125hp electric motor, this powertrain delivers a combined CO2 emissions rating of 19-20g/km, placing it in the 8% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) ranking.

Drivers have the flexibility to choose from three different drive modes to suit their preferences and driving conditions: Hybrid, Electric, and Sport. The default setting, Hybrid mode, intelligently manages the operation of the petrol engine and electric motor to prioritize electric driving whenever possible. In Electric mode, the vehicle can run solely on electric power at speeds of up to 83mph, while Sport mode combines electric power with the petrol engine for maximum performance.

Charging the 3008 PHEV is convenient and efficient, with the standard 3.7kW AC charger allowing for easy charging at home or public charging stations. For those looking for faster charging times, an optional 7.4kW onboard charger is available, reducing AC charging time to just two hours and 45 minutes.

The 3008 PHEV lineup kicks off with the Allure trim starting from £40,650, while the higher-spec GT trim is priced from £44,450, offering customers a choice of features and luxury options to suit their preferences.

Anticipated first customer deliveries are expected in early 2025, as Peugeot continues its commitment to providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions to its customers.
