Osprey installs 300kW fast chargers in Stirling

Osprey Charging is making big strides in expanding public charging access in Stirlingshire, with the recent addition of new ultra-rapid charging devices.
Eight 350kW chargers have been installed alongside the existing two 50kW units at the Highland Gate in Stirling, conveniently located just off the M9 motorway. These new chargers have the capability to add up to 100 miles of range in just 15 to 20 minutes of charging time, depending on the vehicle and its battery.
All of the chargers at the Highland Gate site are powered by renewable energy, reflecting Osprey’s commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. The company not only funded the installation of these new chargers but also handles the ongoing operation and maintenance of the entire charging network.
One of the key features of Osprey’s chargers is their ease of use and flexible payment options. Drivers can simply tap their contactless bank cards, use Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App, RFID card payments, or other major third-party payment methods including fleet cards. This user-friendly approach has been well-received by customers and has contributed to Osprey’s recognition as a ‘Driver Recommended Network’ by Zapmap for the fourth consecutive year.
With more than 1,100 EV chargers now available to the public, Osprey has established itself as a leading charge point operator in the UK. The network boasts an impressive reliability rate of 99% and has experienced significant growth, expanding by 150% in 2023 alone.
Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, expressed the company’s commitment to facilitating the transition to electric vehicles nationwide, stating: “The rollout of EV charging facilities is quickly gathering pace and we’re here to provide a reliable and rapid public charging service for all drivers, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands. Osprey now has over 1,100 charge points available to use across the UK, each carefully designed to maximise space, accessibility, and made to the latest and highest standards. The new charging site in Stirling will form a vital part of the recharging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK.”
