E.ON to Revolutionise EV Charging Experience at MediaMarktSaturn Stores
E.ON has just announced an exciting partnership with electronics retailer MediaMarktSaturn to install fast EV charging infrastructure at 80 of their popular stores. This collaboration will see the installation of approximately 300 new public charging points, equipped with cutting-edge High Power Chargers (HPC) capable of delivering up to 300 kilowatts of power.
Drivers visiting these locations will have access to ultra-fast charging stations that can provide up to 200 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes, allowing them to power up their electric vehicles while they browse and shop.
The primary aim of this initiative is to enhance customer experience by making electric vehicle charging more convenient and accessible, thereby encouraging more people to adopt sustainable mobility solutions.
Karsten Wildberger, Chief Executive Officer of MediaMarktSaturn, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating: ‘With the new electric charging options at MediaMarktSaturn, we are sending a strong signal to our customers and for the future of electromobility. Thanks to our cooperation with E.ON, customers can now conveniently charge their cars at numerous MediaMarktSaturn locations while they shop. This new range of charging points further enhances our brick-and-mortar stores and the local shopping experience and supports our goal of promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.’
Marc Spieker, E.ON Board Member for Customer Solutions, also shared his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the significant contribution it will make to the mobility transition and climate protection. The installations are scheduled to be completed by 2026, marking a major step towards a greener and more sustainable future.
