Perth & Kinross Council funds community groups

Perth and Kinross Council’s Common Good Fund committees gathered on Monday 26th August to allocate funds to various local community organisations. These grants play a vital role in supporting the vibrant community in Perth and Kinross.
The recipients of the recent awards include:
- Adventure Circus – Awarded £5,000 to host four free circus skills shows at Norie-Miller Walk, along with school workshops.
- Children Alone Seeking Asylum – Awarded £500 to organise summer activities for children and young people seeking asylum.
- Friends of Letham Primary Parent Council – Granted £2,355 to assist with costs for the school’s 60th Anniversary celebration in September 2024, featuring a week of events such as a colour run, family fun day, a community café, and a careers afternoon.
- Neuro Central – Awarded £320 to establish a new support group in Perth to improve the health and wellbeing of those living with neurological conditions in Scotland.
- Our Lady’s Primary Parent Council – Received £1,459 towards a whole school trip to the pantomime in December 2024.
- Perform in Perth – Awarded £6,320 to support the Perform in Perth Festival scheduled for March 2025.
- Perth Indian Association – Granted £2,000 to help fund their annual Diwali celebrations in November 2024.
- Perth Outdoor Playgroup Tayside OWL – Given £618 to train two volunteers in outdoor first aid and fund educational sessions at the playgroup.
- Ad-Lib Arts Hardship Fund – Awarded £1,800 to provide free spaces in drama classes.
- Health & Wellbeing Café – Received £1,560 to cover refreshment costs, providing a drop-in service for those seeking support information and advice.
- Perth Minorities Association – Granted £6,848 to support the Safe Space Initiative, aiming to create a supportive environment for ethnic minorities and vulnerable individuals/families.
- St John’s Kirk – Awarded £10,000 towards the repair of the church spire.
Kinross Common Good Fund allocated £1,000 to Kinross Youth Pipes and Drums for purchasing uniforms for their new school pipe band. Additionally, Pitlochry Common Good Fund contributed £400 to Serenity Garden at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church to make the garden more accessible for the local community.
