Approval granted for 191 homes in Beith

North Ayrshire Council’s planning committee has given the green light for the construction of 191 high-quality new homes in Beith by Persimmon West Scotland. This development, set to take place at Kings Road on land designated for housing in the council’s local development plan, marks a significant step towards meeting the housing needs of the area.

The project encompasses a variety of housing types, including terraced, semi-detached, and detached houses, carefully crafted to cater to the demands of the local housing market. Notably, the approved plans place a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and the journey towards achieving net zero emissions. Each new home will be equipped with solar panels and electric car charging points, enabling residents to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their household bills.

In addition to the residential units, the development will feature a landscaped entrance, pedestrian pathways connecting to Kings Road to enhance accessibility on foot, as well as new play parks and public open spaces for the community to enjoy. This holistic approach aims to create a sustainable, vibrant neighbourhood for new and existing residents of Beith.

Craig Moore, Persimmon West Scotland’s land director, expressed gratitude towards North Ayrshire Council for their support throughout the application process. He highlighted the positive impact the project will have on the local area, bringing much-needed housing, employment opportunities, and overall enhancement to the community of Beith.
