Fife appoints new health and social care director.

Lynne Garvey has officially taken on the role of director of health and social care for the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and chief officer for the Fife Joint Integration Board. With over 30 years of experience in various operational, professional, and leadership positions, Lynne is well-equipped to take on this important role.

Beginning her career as a district nurse in Fife, Lynne has since held positions such as district charge nurse, long-term conditions lead nurse, and senior manager in children’s services. Her diverse background and extensive experience make her the perfect candidate to succeed Nicky Connor, who recently became the chief executive of NHS Tayside.

Following a rigorous recruitment process, Lynne’s appointment was met with enthusiasm by NHS Fife chief executive, Carol Potter, who praised Lynne’s contributions to patient-centred initiatives over the past decade. Fife Council chief executive Ken Gourlay also expressed confidence in Lynne, noting her passion and drive towards achieving the Partnership’s strategic goals.

Chair of the Integration Joint Board (IJB), Arlene Wood, extended her congratulations to Lynne and highlighted the importance of working together to support the people of Fife in leading independent and healthier lives. In response, Lynne expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to lead the integration journey in Fife.

Lynne emphasised her commitment to collaborating with partners to enhance health and social care services, create new opportunities, and address existing challenges. She aims to ensure the delivery of safe and sustainable services that prioritise the well-being of all communities in Fife.
