Dundee extends public consultation on development plans

Residents of Dundee have a unique opportunity to have their say and play a crucial role in shaping the future development of their city.

Set to be released in 2028, the Local Development Plan (LDP) will outline the land use strategy that will steer the future development of land and buildings in Dundee.

The initial phase of this new LDP entails the creation of an Evidence Report. This report will comprise a compilation of topic papers on planning themes that align with the guidelines set out in the National Planning Framework 4 by the Scottish Government.

The Dundee City Council is actively seeking input on what evidence is necessary to inform the subsequent stages of preparing the Local Development Plan.

The most recent two topics that are currently open for feedback are:

  • Business and Industry, Brownfield, Vacant and Derelict Land and Buildings
  • Water Environment, Open Space, Play and Sport

Individuals can express their opinions on these topics on the council’s official website, or they can email localdevplan@dundeecity.gov.uk to request a survey in a different format.

All comments regarding the latest two topics must be submitted by 2nd October 2024.

Stay tuned for updates on when other topics will be available for feedback.
