Savings boost for renewable heating

Clean energy developer Rendesco has made a significant move by acquiring the geothermal drilling operations from ADP Group. This strategic acquisition is aimed at reducing the delivery costs of renewable heat, in line with Rendesco’s commitment to sustainable practices.
Rendesco, known for its innovative approach to clean heat solutions, is currently working on the development of the UK’s largest water-source heat network for Welborne Garden Village. Situated north of Fareham, this project will cater to the heating, hot water, and cooling needs of 6,000 new homes, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional heating systems.
Alastair Murray, the Chief Executive Officer of Rendesco, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the benefits it brings to local communities. He stated, ‘Our geothermal drilling operations tap into the heat stored in the ground, allowing us to provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly heating solutions. By taking ownership of the entire clean heat network delivery process, we are able to significantly reduce costs for developers and residents alike.’
Tom Page, the Managing Director of ADP Group, and his team will be joining Rendesco as part of this acquisition, bringing their expertise and customer-focused approach to the table. Murray emphasised the importance of investing in skilled professionals to meet the growing demand for green heating solutions, showcasing Rendesco’s commitment to building a workforce capable of driving sustainable change.
Rendesco’s unique end-to-end approach not only benefits their customers but also allows for training opportunities for engineers and apprentices. By adopting a comprehensive system-wide perspective, Rendesco is paving the way for a new era of green energy solutions, setting the standard for the industry.
