Exciting news from Buenos Aires as Argentina’s very first domestically manufactured electric bus hits the streets, marking a significant milestone in the country’s sustainable transportation journey.
The renowned Argentinian bus operator, DOTA S.A, has proudly introduced the innovative electric bus to the bustling streets of the capital city. This cutting-edge vehicle boasts a remarkable fully electric, zero-emission range of 250km and can be conveniently recharged in just 5-7 hours, making it an eco-friendly and efficient mode of transport.
One of the prominent features of this groundbreaking bus is the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology from the UK-based company, Equipmake. The Zero Emission Drivetrain (ZED) by Equipmake is a modular and scalable electric drivetrain solution specifically designed for both single and double-deck applications, ensuring a smooth and sustainable ride for passengers.
Produced by the reputable Argentine-Brazilian manufacturer Agrale, with the body skillfully crafted by bus parts supplier Todo Bus, this electric bus represents a successful collaboration between international and local entities, showcasing the potential for technological advancement in Argentina’s public transportation sector.
Ian Foley, the esteemed Chief Executive Officer of Equipmake, expressed his enthusiasm about this momentous achievement, stating, “We are delighted that DOTA S.A has put this pioneering electric bus into operation in Buenos Aires.
