New digital services for Thenue Housing tenants

Communities served by Thenue Housing are set to receive a significant digital boost with the launch of the “Connecting with Thenue” initiative. This project aims to enhance digital inclusion among tenants, ultimately improving job prospects, tackling isolation, and making life easier for thousands of individuals.
Jason Ross, the newly appointed staff member, is at the helm of this initiative. He is actively engaging with customers to provide support and guidance on various digital needs such as online shopping, banking, employment opportunities, YouTube usage, and general internet navigation.
Thenue Housing has long prioritised enhancing the digital capabilities of its tenants. Over the past decade, the organisation has invested significant resources, staff time, and secured funding to support digital inclusion efforts as technology continues to evolve rapidly.
The “Connecting with Thenue” initiative is funded through the Scottish Government’s “Connecting Scotland” project, administered by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. Additionally, Thenue has contributed £3000 towards the project, which is set to run until February 2025. There are plans to seek renewed funding to sustain the initiative beyond this period.
Jason Ross emphasises the importance of making online services accessible and user-friendly for all tenants, particularly those who may lack the resources or knowledge to navigate the digital landscape independently. Through informal group sessions and one-to-one support, individuals with mobile phones, tablets, or laptops can benefit from guidance and hands-on assistance.
The Scottish Government’s “Connecting Scotland” initiative aims to provide improved access to devices, connectivity, and skills support for organisations, individuals, and communities. This inclusive approach seeks to create digital opportunities for all residents of Scotland, fostering collaboration with public, private, and voluntary sectors.
Jason has already begun collaborating with Thenue’s “Area Associations,” which are residents-led groups affiliated with the housing association in communities like Castlemilk, Cranhill, and Bridgeton & Dalmarnock.
Gary Naylor, the chief executive of Thenue, expressed the organisation’s commitment to supporting the Connecting Scotland initiative. He acknowledges the importance of digital engagement in today’s world and highlights Thenue’s dedication to helping tenants access services digitally while ensuring face-to-face interactions remain a core aspect of customer engagement.
