Infinium purchases West Thurrock sites for FleetHub charging project.

Infinium Logistics has recently made a significant move by acquiring two adjacent sites in West Thurrock for the development of a brand new electric vehicle FleetHub. This exciting venture marks a major step towards sustainable transportation solutions in the UK.
Investing approximately £15 million in these four-acre sites, European asset management and energy transition specialist, Infinium, is gearing up to create a cutting-edge parking and charging facility capable of accommodating anywhere between 250 to 500 vans. This development is a clear demonstration of their dedication to providing state-of-the-art EV charging infrastructure to support the growing demand for electric vehicles.
Situated on Motherwell Way, East of London, near the popular Lakeside Shopping Centre, these sites offer a prime location for the electrified FleetHub. The close proximity to key parcel carrier hubs in Essex and North-East London, along with the bustling population in the area, sets the stage for a thriving transportation hub. The adjacency to Lakeside Shopping Centre also presents exciting opportunities for local businesses to leverage the FleetHub model.
Infinium is already in close collaboration with customers to finalise proposals for the parking and charging facility, demonstrating their commitment to delivering top-notch EV infrastructure. Tom Gough, investment director at Infinium, expressed his enthusiasm about this strategic acquisition, emphasising its alignment with the company’s mission to meet the rising demand for efficient and eco-friendly transport solutions.
With a focus on capitalising on the energy transition as a competitive advantage for its clients, Infinium is actively exploring further opportunities in ‘last-mile’ logistics locations across Western Europe. Phil Bayliss, CEO of Infinium, highlighted the importance of such acquisitions in meeting the increasing need for EV infrastructure and the potential for rapid growth in this sector.
Bayliss noted, “By combining smart energy procurement, storage solutions, and cutting-edge technology with efficient real estate design, FleetHubs can offer low-carbon, cost-effective power solutions for transportation. This will not only contribute to cleaner air and a healthier environment for the local community but also provide a competitive edge for forward-thinking fleet operators.”
It is evident that Infinium’s acquisition of these sites is not just a strategic business move but a bold step towards a sustainable future for transport. The company is at the forefront of driving innovation in the electric vehicle infrastructure space, leading the way towards a greener and more environmentally friendly transportation landscape in the UK.
