Ford Mustang Mach-E breaks world EV record with epic 569-mile trip.

Breaking News: UK Mustang Mach-E Sets New Electric Car World Record!

In a stunning display of electric vehicle (EV) performance, a Ford Mustang Mach-E driven by Webfleet-sponsored drivers has shattered the previous world record by clocking an unbelievable 569 miles on a single charge on public roads in the UK.

This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record of 563.97 miles set in Hangzhou, China, solidifying the Mustang Mach-E as a true powerhouse in the EV world.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is that it goes well beyond the official range figure of the fully electric Mach-E SUV, with a staggering 52.5% increase on the 373-mile WLTP figure for the Premium Extended Range RWD Auto model used for this record-breaking drive.

The vehicle, equipped with a 91kWh battery and 18-inch Bridgestone tyres, was carefully selected for its cutting-edge battery technology and driver comfort, making it the perfect candidate for this daring endeavour.

Behind the wheel were expert hypermilers Kevin Booker and Sam Clarke, alongside co-pilot Richard Parker of Webfleet, who managed to achieve an impressive 6.25 miles per kilowatt hour (kWh) on their journey through Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Cambridgeshire over a 24-hour period.

The drive encompassed a mix of urban and rural roads to replicate real-world driving conditions, ensuring that this record attempt was a true test of the vehicle’s capabilities.

Every aspect of the record-breaking drive was meticulously documented and independently verified, including video footage, odometer readings, GPS data, and battery level information, thanks to Webfleet’s advanced technology.

Key to the success of this accomplishment were the Bridgestone tyres, which played a crucial role in providing outstanding mileage and low rolling resistance, further enhancing the efficiency of the Mustang Mach-E.

Beverley Wise, Webfleet UKI Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, expressed her pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “This record is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in this endeavour, showcasing the potential of electric vehicles when supported by innovative tyre design and fleet management technology.”

Kevin Booker, one of the drivers, shared his excitement about the journey, saying, “Breaking this record has been an exhilarating journey and a powerful demonstration of what electric vehicles can achieve. We hope this inspires more people to consider electric vehicles for their everyday travel.”

Sam Clarke, the other driver, added, “Driving the Ford Mustang Mach-E for such a distance on a single charge was an extraordinary experience. The vehicle’s efficiency and the support from Webfleet’s technology made this possible.”

Both Clarke and Booker are no strangers to setting records in the EV world, with Clarke holding five driving-related Guinness World Records titles, and Booker holding two for fuel economy and energy consumption in electric vehicles.

The record attempt received official adjudication and EV support services from the AA, with their President, Edmund King, commending the team’s efforts, stating, “Such endeavours are important to show that electric vehicles can be a major part of the future transport mix.”

This monumental achievement not only cements the Mustang Mach-E as a trailblazer in the realm of electric vehicles but also serves as a powerful reminder of the potential and efficiency of EV technology, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future in transportation.
