Televisual firm grows with 3 housing association wins

Televisual Services Glasgow, a Lanarkshire-based company specialising in satellite and aerial installations, TV wall mounts, and CCTV, has recently made significant strides in the televisual services industry. The company has successfully secured tenders with three local housing associations – East Kilbride, Rutherglen & Cambuslang, and West Whitlawburn – for the next five years.

Moreover, Televisual Services Glasgow has also been awarded work with West Whitlawburn Housing Association and will continue its partnership with Clyde Valley Housing Association. This expansion comes after the business owner, Marco Nicholson, transitioned from being a sole trader to a limited company in 2020. Marco, with over 24 years of experience in the industry, has catered to reputable clients such as John Lewis, Argos, various housing associations, and electrical contractors with telecommunication needs.

The turning point for Televisual Services Glasgow came when Marco identified the opportunity to secure a four-year tender with East Kilbride Housing Association. Recognising the potential of this contract, Marco sought guidance from Business Gateway to navigate the application process effectively.

With the support of a dedicated business adviser, Debbie, Marco received one-to-one assistance to enhance his chances of a successful bid. Further guidance came from Judith Stewart, a procurement consultant from Tinto Procurement, who reviewed the tender application to identify and address any shortcomings.

Following the expert advice and support from Business Gateway, Marco and his team clinched the tender, positioning Televisual Services Glasgow on the Repairs & Maintenance and Voids Framework 2024 – 2028 for East Kilbride Housing Association. The company will collaborate with wholesaler Eurosat Scotland Limited and suppliers Whyte Technologies on this project.

Encouraged by this triumph, Marco is now poised to pursue additional housing association contracts with the ongoing assistance of Business Gateway. In an effort to meet the rising demand for their services, Marco, with the support of Skills Development Scotland, aims to expand his team, which currently comprises his wife and two other members, by recruiting more employees and apprentices from the local community.

Reflecting on the invaluable support received from Business Gateway, Marco expressed his gratitude, stating, “The support from Business Gateway has been absolutely invaluable. From our first meeting to the final submission, Business Gateway really went over and above to ensure we stood the best possible chance of submitting a winning bid for the tender. Judith, the procurement consultant we worked with, really went that extra mile, and we can’t thank her enough.”

Debbie Dawkins, Business Gateway adviser, commended Marco for his achievements, saying, “We are extremely proud of Marco and what he has accomplished for his team. Securing this tender will ensure a solid future for his business for years to come, and I look forward to seeing the business go on to win even more contracts in the future.”
