Fleet Alliance Enhances Driver App as EV Popularity Rises

Glasgow-based fleet management and leasing specialist, Fleet Alliance, has recently rolled out an upgraded version of their driver app to enhance their e-Fleet platform, catering to the increasing number of electric cars within their fleet.
Upgraded e-Fleet driver app with greater functionality
The e-Fleet app is customised for each driver, regardless of the vehicle funder, providing all the necessary support information specific to their vehicle. In addition, it enables company car and salary sacrifice car drivers to easily order a new or replacement vehicle and perform various essential tasks.
Over the first half of the year, Fleet Alliance has observed a steady rise in the adoption of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrids (HEVs) within their managed fleet of over 30,000 vehicles. Between January and June 2024, a staggering 77% of new vehicle orders comprised BEVs (42%) and HEVs (35%), marking the highest market share for both model types recorded by the company so far. More drivers are making the shift from traditional ICE models to take advantage of the cost-saving and environmental benefits offered by EVs and hybrid vehicles.
Andy Bruce, CEO of Fleet Alliance, emphasised the importance of ensuring a seamless experience for drivers, especially amidst the influx of electric vehicles in fleets. He compared the new wave of electric vehicles to “mobile phones on wheels” with user-friendly interfaces, highlighting the need for the e-Fleet platform to support drivers efficiently and reduce administrative burdens for fleet managers.
With the aim of keeping pace with the evolving market and providing an enhanced driver experience, Fleet Alliance launched a new version of the e-Fleet driver app featuring significant technical improvements. Drivers can expect a more streamlined and consistent user interface across all devices, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the mobile interface and overall functionality.
“The e-Fleet app is designed to facilitate fleet management for drivers on the move, accessible conveniently from mobile phones, tablets, or PCs. This latest upgrade is just one of many enhancements planned for the e-Fleet app to further improve the driver experience,” added Bruce.
Among the array of driver support services offered by the e-Fleet driver app, drivers can now submit regular vehicle inspection reports at intervals set by their employer, log business and personal mileage, and keep track of essential business trips. Fleet managers can utilise the app to send out notifications to drivers for routine fleet management tasks, even from a distance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and duty of care responsibilities to minimise road risks.
To access the revamped e-Fleet app with its upgraded user interface, drivers can simply log in via the app or by visiting the Fleet Alliance website and clicking on the login option at the top right corner.
