Paisley Housing Assoc. appoints new CEO; Kathleen McCutcheon to step down.

Paisley Housing Association (PHA) bids farewell to its long-standing chief executive, Kathleen McCutcheon, as she prepares to retire after an illustrious 35-year career in the Social Housing Sector. Kathleen, who joined PHA in 2006, spearheaded numerous transformative initiatives during her tenure, such as doubling staff numbers to accommodate the Association’s expanding range of activities, overseeing multiple new build and CTI developments, and orchestrating a relocation to a new office in the heart of Paisley town centre.
Reflecting on her time with PHA, Kathleen expressed her gratitude for the invaluable experiences she gained within the housing sector, describing it as a challenging yet immensely rewarding field. She fondly acknowledged the countless individuals she encountered throughout her journey, many of whom evolved into cherished friends, underscoring the enduring connections forged within the housing community.
Chairperson of PHA, Karen McMillan, commended Kathleen for her pivotal contributions to the Association’s growth and success over the years. From her initial role as CEO of Paisley South Housing Association to facilitating the rebranding to Paisley Housing Association in 2016, Kathleen played a vital role in fortifying the organisation’s presence within the community. Despite facing challenges, notably navigating the complexities of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kathleen’s steadfast leadership steered PHA towards resilience and enhanced efficiency.
As Kathleen bids adieu to PHA, Fiona McTaggart steps into the role of the new chief executive, set to commence her duties in August. Fiona expressed her eagerness to embark on this new chapter with Paisley Housing Association, acknowledging the solid foundation laid by her predecessor, Kathleen McCutcheon.
Fiona conveyed her excitement at the prospect of collaborating with the board and staff to uphold PHA’s commitment to delivering superior customer service and maintaining its status as a high-performing housing association. With a shared vision for excellence, Fiona’s appointment signifies a seamless transition as PHA continues its journey towards sustained success and community engagement.
