Exciting news from Musselburgh as a total of 45 high-quality new homes have been handed over to East Lothian Council, thanks to a collaborative project between Persimmon East Scotland and the council. These new properties form part of Persimmon’s Burgh Gate development in Musselburgh at Craighall North and will cater to local residents in housing need.
Previously, in July 2022, East Lothian Council received an initial phase of 34 homes from Persimmon. This latest and final phase includes a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, offering a variety of options to accommodate different household sizes and needs. The properties feature one and two-bedroom cottage flats with level access showers, two-bedroom mid-terraced houses, three-bedroom end-terraced houses, three-bedroom wheelchair-accessible bungalows, and four-bedroom semi-detached houses.
Expressing his delight, Councillor Andy Forrest, the spokesperson for housing and property maintenance at East Lothian Council, highlighted the importance of these new homes in meeting the increasing demand for affordable housing in the region. He emphasized the significance of having a diverse range of property sizes and types, including wheelchair-accessible options, to cater to a variety of tenants waiting for suitable accommodation.
