New Chance to Apply for Perth & Kinross Fund

The Net Zero Club News Network is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for community groups in Perth and Kinross! The Community Investment Fund is opening for bids, offering a share of £300,000 to support local projects that make a real difference in the community.

Established in 2018/19, the Community Investment Fund has already invested over £2.4 million in more than 500 projects, focusing on addressing inequalities and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Applications for this year’s fund will be open from July 22 to September 6, providing an opportunity for community groups to secure funding for their initiatives. The fund will be allocated on a ward-by-ward basis, with panels in each area responsible for evaluating applications.

Councillor Tom McEwan, the convener of Perth and Kinross Council’s Housing and Wellbeing Committee, emphasized the importance of empowering local communities to identify their needs and drive positive change.

He stated, “The best people to identify what their communities need are the people who live there. As a council, we are dedicated to collaborating with communities across Perth and Kinross to enhance the well-being of our residents.”

With a successful track record of supporting community-led projects, the council looks forward to receiving exciting and impactful applications in the upcoming weeks.

Furthermore, after the allocation of grants from the Community Investment Fund, community groups will have the opportunity to participate in the next round of Participatory Budgeting in the New Year.

Building on the achievements of the previous Green Living Fund, community groups will be able to vie for a portion of £100,000 to develop projects addressing poverty and the cost-of-living crisis.

This fund will target four areas with the highest levels of income deprivation: Old Scone, Central & North Perth, Rattray, South Crieff, and Coupar Angus, Meigle & Alyth. Members of the public will have the chance to vote for their preferred projects, with the winners set to be announced in March 2025.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in your community! Get ready to submit your innovative project proposals and be part of the positive change in Perth and Kinross!
