Ellengowan project wins design award!

Hillcrest’s Ellengowan regeneration project has proudly received a silver award in the Affordable Housing category at the prestigious Scottish Design Awards 2024. The project, situated on Dundee’s Ellengowan Drive, completed its first phase early last year and has already made a significant impact in the community.

The competition was fierce, with outstanding projects from all over Scotland vying for recognition. Judges were particularly impressed by Ellengowan’s thoughtful open-space planning, integration with the natural landscape, and striking building design.

Angela Linton, Hillcrest’s chief executive, expressed her joy at the well-deserved award, stating, “After years of hard work on Ellengowan’s regeneration, we are thrilled to see our efforts recognised with a Scottish Design Award. Our focus throughout the project has been on preserving the sense of community and iconic aesthetics that the area was known for, and it’s heartwarming to hear positive feedback from our tenants and receive accolades like this.”

The project was brought to life through the collaboration of Collective Architecture and Campion Homes, bringing together expertise to create a truly remarkable development. The success of the first phase has set the stage for the upcoming second phase, where an additional 70 homes will be added to further enhance the area.
